How complex, basic and true this is. I've had a coach for a year now and she has helped me to become a better and more peaceful person. A coach inspires you to take something from every situation - happy or sad - and then to apply it to what is going on in your life in a positive way. A coach helps you to open your eyes and see what's right in front of you. Something we do not find the time to do because we are too busy running through life. Not to get a coach is to sell your life short. Get a coach! Enjoy and fulfill your life!

I agree with the other posters: This is a beautiful article and you are awesome! Of course, those of who know you or have gotten good coaching from you (in my lucky case, both) know that already.

This is a beautiful post that puts together some of the ideas from your earlier posts in a wonderful, cohesive way.

Congratulations on this great work!

BatSheva,

This is a great post. I have had this experience many times. As a parent, I have become much better at letting go of my original plans/ideas and living in the moment. Sometimes, though, I get a little too free; I continue the relaxedness when I should be rolling up my sleeves and getting back to meeting life goals. Still, I think that letting go and being how to be present in the moment has been one of the best things I have learned and done as an adult. I notice that kids help me with this tremendously and so do pets: they seem to live more naturally and fully in the now, so I let myself be drawn out of my default planning and accomplishing mode into my pleasure-in-the-moment mode.

Thank you for writing and sharing these wonderful posts on your beautiful site!

Love and admiration,
Claire

Yes!

One of Kate's favorite things in the whole world (one she waits eagerly for all winter) is our "fruit picnic" tradition. When the weather is nice, she and I go out to the backyard with the dog Lily, a towel or blanket to rest upon, and an assortment of fresh fruit to share. We eat and talk, enjoy nature, and pet Lily. We always bring out books too for me to read to her. Usually, I lie on my back to read. Kate leans against me or lies down with her head on me. Lily almost always curls up against me with her head on me too. When we take reading breaks, we do one of my favorite things, which is to look up at the sky through tree branches and leaves.
